David Lewis Bio
BYU-H Vice President
David came to BYU-Hawaii in 2011 with nearly two decades of operational and managerial experience in facilities, construction, and planning. He attended and graduated from BYU Provo in business management. He is a founding member of the Cougar House and served as the National President of the Cougar Club for two years. David is responsible for master planning and strategic direction of board approved construction projects and renovations at BYU-Hawaii. In addition, he oversees the university's facilities management department, including custodial, design and construction, shops, and grounds. David and his wife Jonna have five children.
Jonna grew up in Huntington Beach, California and before moving to Hawaii, lived in Spanish Fork, Utah for the past 17 years. She received her bachelor’s degree from BYU Provo in Elementary Education. She taught 1st grade for four years before staying home to raise their five children. When their youngest child started school, Jonna went back to teaching 2nd grade for the last three years. Jonna has been very busy in various church and community positions but loves the job of wife and mother the most.

Join Jonna and Dave as they celebrate their 22nd Wedding Anniversary on June 15th. Twenty-two years ago they were Sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. They will talk about focusing on the "small things" that can help all of us build the foundation of our eternal marriage on a rock. The Lewis' will be sharing experiences including bringing their family to Laie and being part of the historic expansion of the BYU-Hawaii Campus.
