HONOR CODE & DRESS AND GROOMING STANDARDS
HONOR CODE STATEMENT

“We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men... If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.”

As a matter of personal commitment, participants of Keaulani (Hawaii EFY Express) seek to demonstrate those moral virtues encompassed in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and will:

  • Be honest
  • Observe Dress and Grooming Standards
  • Obey the law and all campus policies
  • Use clean language
  • Respect others
  • Abstain from alcoholic beverages, tobacco, tea, coffee, and substance abuse
  • Encourage others in their commitment to comply with the Honor Code

DRESS AND GROOMING STANDARDS
The attire and grooming of both men and women must always be modest, neat, clean, with the dignity adherent to representing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Adherence to these standards will be enforced; participants will not be able to check in at the program if they are not appropriately dressed and groomed.

Hair Styles
Hairstyles should be neat, clean, and trim. Hair should be above the collar of a dress shirt in the back and less than one-half inch over the ears.

Piercings
Earrings, excessive jewelry and body piercing are not appropriate.

Facial Maintenance
A clean and well-cared appearance should be maintained. Sideburns should not extend below the earlobe or the check. Mustaches should be neatly trimmed and may not extend beyond or below the corners of the mouth. Beards are not accepted.

Hair Styles
Hairstyles should be clean and neat, avoiding extremes in styles and colors.

Piercings
Excessive ear piercing (one per ear) and all other body piercing are not appropriate.

Sunday Dress Standards
White dress shirt, dress pants (shirt must be tucked in), tie and dress shoes.

Sunday Dress Standards
All Dresses or skirts must be knee length or longer. Dresses or skirts with slits above the knee in the front or back will not be permitted. Blouses must have enough length to cover your stomach. Clothing may not include low-cut necklines, backless or strapless dresses. Leggings are not considered appropriate.

Footwear: Footwear should be worn in all public campus areas.
Hats: 
Hats are not to be worn indoors.
Tattoo: 
All tattoos must be covered at all times.
